04 / Informal credit / trust ledger
Truss
A merchant-first credit system for recording local trust, payments, and customer history with the right privacy boundaries.
THE PRODUCT
Truss is an informal credit ledger for local commerce. It helps merchants keep track of customers, payments, credit checks, and trust history while keeping each merchant's view private.
THE PROBLEM
Small merchants need a practical way to record informal credit and customer history without exposing another merchant's activity or losing access when connectivity is unreliable.
MY ROLE
I shaped the trust-focused navigation, customer and activity views, credit checker, privacy boundaries, offline behavior, and email-first communication approach.
PRODUCT DECISIONS
Keep merchant customers and recent activity scoped to the current merchant.
Use only TRN, phone number, and full name for a complete credit search.
Support offline cache and later sync so the product can still be useful between connections.
Make email the primary communication channel rather than making the product depend on SMS.
INTERFACE
The interface is organized around Trust, customers, activity, and credit checking. A clear bottom navigation and compact status treatments keep the product useful on a phone.
ENGINEERING
The product is designed for native mobile use with offline cache and sync. The workflow accounts for merchant-scoped data, credit history, and email as the primary notification channel.

Trust products are defined as much by what a user cannot see as by what they can.
