A Caribbean dating product designed around clearer intent, better conversations, and safer real-world connection.
THE PRODUCT
Konekt is a dating experience for Jamaica and the wider Caribbean. It combines vertical discovery, compatibility signals, conversation starters, verification, and a date safety check-in into one product language.
THE PROBLEM
A dating app cannot rely on matching alone. People need to understand intent, get past empty openers, feel more confident about who they are talking to, and have support when a date moves offline.
MY ROLE
I shaped the discovery flow, profile intent and compatibility fields, verification experience, match quality explanation, conversation starters, date planner, and safety check-in. The product work connected the social experience to the realities of meeting someone in person.
PRODUCT DECISIONS
Use a focused daily like limit to make discovery more intentional.
Explain why a match is promising instead of leaving compatibility as a mystery score.
Treat verification as a progressive trust signal rather than a single intimidating gate.
Keep safety visible in the date flow without making the product feel alarmist.
INTERFACE
Konekt uses a vertically paced discovery flow, profile details that answer the questions people actually have, and lightweight prompts that help a match become a conversation.
ENGINEERING
The iOS product is connected to Supabase data and Edge Functions for backend workflows. The architecture supports account state, matching, daily limits, safety check-ins, and product-level trust signals.
